Our enterprise global client has a Contract Hybrid possible Remote for an experienced System Administrator with OnBase Upgrade experience.
Candidate will be responsible for helping to craft the infrastructure and system admin support of the enterprise upgrade initiative.
Must have system admininstrative background to include documentation, server Cloud solutions and troubleshooting.

responsibilities:
A successful OnBase System Administrator for an upgrade project plays a critical role in ensuring a smooth transition to a newer version of the OnBase platform. Their responsibilities typically span planning, technical execution, testing, documentation, and post-upgrade support.
- Version Analysis: Thoroughly research and understand the new OnBase version's features, enhancements, deprecated functionalities, and system requirements.
- Impact Assessment: Analyze the current OnBase environment (modules, integrations, custom solutions, hardware, software) to identify potential impacts of the upgrade.
- Upgrade Strategy Development: Collaborate with stakeholders (IT, business users, vendors) to define the upgrade scope, timeline, and strategy, including test plans and rollback procedures.
- Resource Planning: Identify necessary hardware, software, and licensing requirements for the new environment.
- Communication Planning: Develop and execute communication plans to inform users and stakeholders about upgrade activities, downtimes, and changes.
Technical Execution:
- Installation and Configuration: Perform clean installations or in-place upgrades of OnBase servers, clients, and associated modules (e.g., Workflow, DIP, COLD, Application Enabler).
- Database Management: Work closely with database administrators (DBAs) to ensure database compatibility, perform necessary schema updates, and manage data migration if applicable.
- Integration Management: Reconfigure and test existing integrations with other business systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, HRIS) to ensure compatibility with the upgraded OnBase version.
- Security Configuration: Review and reconfigure security settings, user permissions, and authentication methods to align with the new version's security model and organizational policies.
- Performance Tuning: Optimize the upgraded OnBase environment for performance and stability.
Testing and Quality Assurance:
- Unit Testing: Conduct initial tests of individual OnBase components and functionalities post-upgrade.
- System Integration Testing (SIT): Coordinate and participate in comprehensive testing of all OnBase modules and integrations with connected systems.
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Support: Provide support and guidance to business users during UAT, addressing issues and gathering feedback.
- Defect Management: Identify, document, track, and resolve issues or bugs encountered during the upgrade process.
- Performance and Load Testing: Conduct tests to ensure the upgraded system can handle expected user load and performance requirements.
Documentation and Knowledge Transfer:
- Upgrade Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of the upgrade process, configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps.
- System Diagrams: Update system architecture diagrams and component inventories.
- User Guides/Training Materials: Assist in updating user guides and developing training materials for new features or changed functionalities.
- Knowledge Transfer: Train and provide knowledge transfer to other IT staff and support teams on the new OnBase version.
Post-Upgrade Support and Maintenance:
- Go-Live Support: Provide immediate support during and after the go-live phase to address any critical issues.
- Monitoring: Establish and maintain monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve performance or stability issues.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to the upgraded OnBase environment.
- Ongoing Optimization: Continuously monitor system health and performance, implementing further optimizations as needed.
- Vendor Communication: Liaise with Hyland (OnBase vendor) support for complex issues or product-specific guidance.
This role requires a strong understanding of OnBase architecture, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage complex technical projects.
qualifications:
- 5+ years of OnBase experience
- Extensive experience coordinating and performing Hyland OnBase server and software upgrades
- Able to document upgrade process steps
- OnBase architecture knowledge
skills:
- OnBase administration experience
- OnBase Workflow design and configuration experience
- Knowledge of Windows Server OS and/or ISS
- Knowledge of SQL Server platform
- Knowledge of virtual environments
