Overview
Responsible for supporting the operation of the risk function by evaluating and analyzing risks of varying complexity and identifying and implementing approaches and solutions to mitigate those risks. May have a focus on one or more types of risk such as financial, compliance, reputational, or operational risk and may provide advice to management based on this knowledge base. Demonstrates an understanding of business needs and objectives with flexibility to realign efforts as business demands develop. Provide subject matter expertise and guidance regarding exams, internal audits, and compliance reviews. Support the Business Unit throughout full lifecycle of findings and/or issues remediation from identification to closure. Assess NFCU's policies, procedures, practices, and governance routines, as they relate to the assigned Business Unit. Typically requires an individual with a professional qualification in one or more areas of risk management or its equivalent.

Responsibilities
- Effectively coordinates exam preparation activities, information requests, and provides quality assurance for examination responses and other regulatory inquiries
- Collaborate with executive management and business units
- Identify potential business risks, operational and regulatory process deficiencies and improvement opportunities
- Coordinates with Business Units to ensure corrective actions are implemented timely to address recommendations resulting from internal and external audits and exams
- Contributes to a culture of collaboration by actively working across business lines, communicating knowledge and business processes to Business Units
- Interprets and discusses information requests, findings, and related recommendations with the designated Business Unit liaisons
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience in risk management or related methodologies
- Basic understanding of business and operating environment
- Audit or exam management experience
- Knowledge and understanding of risk-based auditing techniques and methodologies
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations, company policies, and industry best practices
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Knowledge of operational and regulatory risk controls concepts and practices
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Auditing, or related field or equivalent combination of training, education and experience
- Creating and managing dashboards in PowerBi
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree in related field or equivalent combination of training, education and experience
NCCO or NCRM certification - Experience working for a Financial Institution
- Background in lending such as credit cards, consumer loans, business banking, education lending and/or collections
