A Brief Overview
The Senior IT Service Engineer I works as part of the Service Engineer team in the Service and Operations group. Provides on-site and remote technical support and analysis on all aspects of end-user systems. Diagnoses technical issues, assesses user needs and implements technical fixes for customers during working hours and after-hours as required by urgency of situation. Collaborates with others to resolve end-point-related hardware and software problems. Contributes to the Service and Operations knowledgebase and other documentation. Installs or upgrades equipment and software as required to provide needed capabilities for the end-user systems. Works closely with the IT Service Desk to ensure ticket accuracy and timely resolution. Conducts user training as needed.
This position will be with National Indemnity Company in Omaha, NE with a hybrid work environment requiring 50% in-office at our headquarters in downtown Omaha, NE. No sponsorship opportunities are available for this position at this time.

What will you do?
- SYSTEMS SUPPORT: Works to resolve end-point-related hardware and software problems. Systems supported include, but are not limited to, support of hardware (desktops/laptops), virtual desktops (VDI), end user software, mobile devices, printers, and phone systems. Responds to, researches, and resolves technical issues.
- COLLABORATE AND CONSULT: Works with other members of the Service and Operations teams to determine methods to resolve end-user hardware and software issues.
- SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION: Participates in technology related product research, installation, evaluation, testing and implementation. Acquires and maintains knowledge of relevant product offerings, and methods of support delivery to provide technically accurate solutions to users.
- DOCUMENT: Contributes to the it knowledgebase and keeps documentation current, relevant and useful. participates in the documentation of systems administered by the Service Team.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor degree in computer science or related field
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and troubleshooting procedures for IT support of endpoints
- Knowledge of Microsoft endpoint software and operating systems
- Workstation/Laptop hardware component knowledge

- Experience with software deployment tools
- Experience with patching of applications and systems
- Experience with security/compliance tools
- ITSM/ITIL knowledge
