Actuarial Model Developer - Life & Annuities

Location: Boston, MA (Preferred)

Duration: 6 months (Contract, with potential for extension or full-time conversion)


About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically strong Actuarial Model Developer to join our Actuarial Modeling team. This position will focus on developing and maintaining models for newly acquired institutional blocks on our advanced Milliman Integrate Actuarial platform. The models will support GAAP, U.S. and Bermuda Statutory reporting, cash flow testing, and various financial analyses.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop actuarial models on the Milliman Integrate platform for new institutional life and annuity blocks.

  • Ensure model readiness for GAAP, U.S. statutory, and Bermuda statutory reporting requirements.

  • Create and maintain testing tools to validate model integrity and performance.

  • Assist with assumption updates and analyze their financial impact.

  • Collaborate with the model production team to deliver quarterly/monthly valuation results.

  • Apply model governance best practices including:

    • Model design and documentation

    • Change management and validation

    • Compliance with SOX and internal risk controls

  • Support internal/external audits and regulatory exams as required.


Required Skills & Experience:

  • FSA or ASA (with 4+ years of actuarial experience) in the life and annuity insurance industry.

  • Proficiency with MG ALFA or similar actuarial projection software.

  • Solid knowledge of GAAP valuation (preferred).

  • Familiarity with statutory and Bermuda reporting frameworks.

  • Strong analytical and technical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and solve complex issues.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

  • Working knowledge of Python or SQL is a strong plus.

  • Adaptability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
