Genesis10 is currently seeking a Data Platform Operations Engineer for a 6-month contract to hire role with our healthcare client in Bloomington, MN. Must be in 5 state radius of MN, WI, Iowa, SD or ND. Ability to go onsite occasionally.

Compensation: $60-$68 per hour, depending on skill and experience level.

Client is currently hiring a Data Platform Operations Engineer. This pivotal role is responsible for deploying, maintaining, and monitoring Azure Data Landing Zone resources, ensuring optimal performance and reliability across the organization. The Data Platform Operations Engineer updates and maintains documentation and processes to meet regulatory requirements and HealthPartners standards. In addition, this position mentors other team members and provides expert consultation to business partners, technical teams, and development staff.

As a cornerstone of client'sdata infrastructure, this role safeguards the stability of the Azure Data Landing Zone and the enterprise analytics platform, which are essential for secure environments, responsive operations, and strategic initiatives. The Data Platform Operations Engineer enables seamless analytics workflows, accurate reporting, and data-driven decision-making by ensuring stable infrastructure for the Data Lake and other cloud related resources. This position ensures compliance, minimizes operational risk, and supports the delivery of reliable enterprise insights that drive organizational success.

Required Qualifications:
  • Four (4) year college degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or related field OR three plus (3+) years of IT related experience
  • 2+ years' hands on experience with DevOps
  • 2+ years' hands on experience deploying services and Infrastructure in Azure public cloud.
  • 2+ years' hands on experience provisioning infrastructure using Terraform.
  • 2+ years' experience with Ansible
  • Strong knowledge of data platforms
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Experience performing and documenting in-depth analysis.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Expertise in technical documentation writing and interpreting business documentation
  • Strong understanding of the LAN and WAN network
  • Experience with disaster recovery planning
  • Flexible to work outside standard business hours, including weekends, with participation in an on-call rotation.
  • Strong Microsoft tools skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Hands on experience with Databases (Relational and No-Sql)
  • Hands on experience with Databricks
  • Hands on experience with Synapse
  • Hands on experience with Liquibase
  • Hands on experience with Azure CLI (az cli)
  • Hands on experience configuring Azure Monitoring
  • Experience working in an agile/scrum team.
  • Administration of Oracle or Microsoft SQL Databases.
  • Azure cloud certifications
  • Hands on experience provisioning a HIPAA compliant cloud services.
  • Hands on experience setting up Azure DevOps Build + Release Pipelines in YAML

Responsibilities:
  • Automates the creation and maintenance of data platforms.
  • Provides primary support for implementing, upgrading, and maintaining data platform environments.
  • Implement solutions to optimize system stability, resilience, and security.
  • Collaborates with data engineers, data product teams, and vendors to report and resolve problems.
  • Ensures compliance of all security standards in collaboration with IS&T Security Management.
  • Debugs problematic issues, provide analysis for future enhancements and development; proactively maintaining effective and efficient systems.
  • Forecasts and analyzes future capacity needs and develops tools and utilities to mitigate future capacity issues.
