Location: 100% Remote (U.S. Based Candidates Only)
Job Type: Contract or Full-Time
Duration: 12+ Months (with extension potential)/Full Time

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Architect to lead the lift-and-shift migration of on-premise workloads into OCI. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in OCI architecture, networking, compute, storage, and migration planning. You will play a key role in modernizing legacy environments and ensuring seamless migration to Oracle Cloud.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, planning, and execution of lift-and-shift migrations from on-premise or hosted environments into Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
  • Analyze existing application, database, and middleware environments and define OCI-based target architecture
  • Design and implement OCI infrastructure components including VCN, subnets, compute instances, load balancers, block storage, and identity management
  • Build secure, scalable, and highly available environments in OCI following Oracle best practices
  • Coordinate with application owners, DBAs, and other stakeholders to plan and migrate workloads with minimal downtime
  • Set up monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery configurations in OCI
  • Support post-migration validation, performance tuning, and environment stabilization
  • Provide OCI architecture guidance and OCI tenancy governance

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of overall IT infrastructure or cloud architecture experience
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
  • Proven experience leading lift-and-shift migrations into OCI
  • Strong knowledge of OCI services: Compute, Block Volume, Object Storage, VCN, Load Balancer, IAM, Bastion, and Oracle Cloud Guard
  • Experience working with OCI Resource Manager, Terraform, or shell scripting for automation
  • Familiarity with Oracle applications, databases, or middleware is a strong plus
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and coordination skills

Nice to Have:

  • OCI Architect Professional Certification
  • Experience with Oracle Linux, WebLogic, or Oracle Database migration
  • Familiarity with other cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and comparative migration strategies
