Position Summary
The Data Conversion Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and executing data conversion processes to migrate patient identity and demographic data from legacy systems into Epic. This role ensures data integrity, accuracy, and compliance throughout the conversion lifecycle, supporting a seamless transition for clinical and operational workflows.

Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Mapping
Analyze legacy system data structures and map them to Epic Identity requirements.
Collaborate with operational and IT teams to define data conversion scope and specifications.
Development & Execution
Develop scripts and ETL processes to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data into Epic.
Create SQL queries and conversion programs to standardize and validate data.
Testing & Validation
Perform rigorous testing of converted data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Work with clinicians and end-users to validate patient identity data in Epic.
Troubleshooting & Support
Identify and resolve data inconsistencies or errors during conversion.
Provide technical support during go-live and post-conversion phases.
Documentation & Compliance
Maintain detailed documentation of conversion processes and data mapping.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and organizational data security standards.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
3+ years of experience in data conversion or migration projects, preferably in healthcare.
Fundamental understanding of Epic Identity
Proficiency in SQL, scripting languages (Python, PowerShell), and ETL tools.
Strong understanding of patient identity management and healthcare data standards.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Epic implementation projects.
Epic Identity Certification
Familiarity with HL7 standards and healthcare interoperability.
Knowledge of data governance and master patient index (MPI) concepts.
