About the Team

At Walmart, innovation and curiosity fuel everything we do. On the eCommerce Item Experience team, you'll help shape how millions of customers discover and shop, from product images and videos to immersive item pages that bring shopping to life.

We're a team of builders, dreamers, and doers who think big, move fast, and execute with purpose. If you love turning complex problems into elegant solutions, scaling great ideas, and driving real impact, this is your place.

We're on a mission to redefine retail online, crafting experiences that engage, inspire, and delight. Come help us make shopping not just easier, but extraordinary.

About the Role
As Director of Technology Operations, you'll be the storyteller connecting strategy and technology, turning Walmart's bold, AI-powered content vision into real results.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Item Experience, you'll lead cross-functional teams across Product, Engineering, Design, and Data Science to supercharge Walmart's product shopability and product details pages strategy reinventing how customers shop.
You're a systems thinker and strategic operator who thrives in ambiguity, aligns complex ecosystems, and drives clarity through communication. You'll partner across Walmart and with leading content partners to deliver transformative, customer-first experiences.
We're looking for a visionary doer - someone who connects dots, challenges the norm, and inspires teams to build what's next.
You'll sweep us off our feet if:
You operate like a builder, lead like a communicator, and think like a strategist.
  • Ways of Working:
    • You transform ambiguity into process, structure, and story.
    • Collaboration is your thing. You've thrived in an environment that required collaboration to execute. You have a track record of influencing others.
    • You lead others but are not afraid to roll up your sleeves to get things done.
  • Mindset:
    • You think customer first, 100% of the time.
    • You're not afraid to push big ideas through friction and resistance.
    • You believe storytelling is strategy, using communication as a lever for alignment and impact.
  • Experience:
    • 12+ years leading eCommerce technical operations or product management portfolio
    • Proven record operationalizing AI systems from generative models to autonomous frameworks.
    • Deep expertise in product detail pages, pricing transparency, and performance analytics. eCommerce product merchandising and campaign management a plus.
    • Experience driving cross-functional transformations with measurable business outcomes.
    • You have experience managing multiple initiatives at once.
    • You've built strategies requiring associative thinking.
    • You've leveraged user research and data to understand why strategies do and don't work.
    • You have experience translating a vision into decks, strategic requirement documents, and similar.

And most importantly...YOU WANT TO CHANGE ONLINE RETAIL

You'll make an impact by:
  • Delivering Walmart's Item Experience plan, increasing customer engagement and conversion.
  • Leading through clarity and communication, aligning hundreds of stakeholders around a single, AI-driven vision.
  • Embedding AI-first thinking across every operational layer transforming how teams build, measure, and iterate.
  • Transforming Walmart's customer shopping experience to drive long term customer loyalty.
