Oracle Database Developer

Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid) 3 days onsite 2 days remote

Required Qualifications:

  • Database developer with 7+ years of experience working in databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata etc.
  • 5+ years of experience using Oracle and writing stored procedures.
  • Proficient in Advanced SQL Skills with hands on RDBMS experience in Oracle (Exadata).
  • 4+ years hands on experience with Shell Scripting.
  • Working knowledge on Autosys and/or other scheduling tools.
  • Experience using bit bucket and xl-deploy for code release.
  • Working in Agile Team (and familiar with SAFe Agile Practices).
  • Strong Analytics skills
  • Flexible to learn and work on new technologies
  • Should be able to independently work through implementation (along with taking care of Release Management)
  • Coordinating with Product Owners and other teams are required - good interpersonal skills and communication skills are needed

Description:

  • This job is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the job include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements, coding solutions, unit testing, and ensuring the solution can be integrated successfully into the overall application/system with clear, robust, and well-tested interfaces. Job expectations include an awareness of development and testing practices in the industry.
  • Design, develop, and maintain database and ETL processes, ensuring accurate data flow and enabling data analytics as well as lead a team. This role involves creating data warehouses, writing SQL queries, developing stored procedures, tuning ETL processes, and understand user needs. Work with business analysts and Stakeholders to understand data needs and implement solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements
  • Utilizes multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of business requirements
  • Contributes to story refinement and definition of requirements
  • Participates in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle
