Job Details

SQL Server DBA - 100% REMOTE
Atlanta based established services organization seeking a seasoned SQL Server DBA for their team. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and performance, integrity, and security of the databases, ensuring that data is stored effectively and securely and is readily accessible to authorized users. You will work closely with developers and IT teams to design, implement, and maintain database solutions that meet our organization's evolving needs. This is a fully remote opportunity working from the comfort of your home office!

Responsibilities:
  1. Database Design and Implementation: Design, implement, and maintain database systems to support business needs, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and reliability.
  2. Database Security: Implement and maintain database security protocols to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
  3. Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor database performance and proactively identify and resolve performance issues. Optimize database queries, indexes, and configurations for improved efficiency and reliability.
  4. Backup and Recovery: Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to protect against data loss and ensure business continuity in the event of system failures or disasters.
  5. Database Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as database software updates, patch management, and data purging to ensure the ongoing health and stability of database systems.
  6. User Access Management: Manage user access and permissions to databases, ensuring that access rights are granted and revoked in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  7. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database systems, including data models, configurations, and procedures. Generate regular reports on database performance, usage, and capacity.
  8. Collaboration and Support: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, IT administrators, and business stakeholders, to support database-related initiatives and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a DBA with proficiency in SQL Server
  • Strong understanding of database architecture, design principles, and best practices.
  • Experience with database security protocols and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Service mindset
  • Azure Cloud experience a huge plus
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Database Administrator) are a plus.
