Job Details

A global financial services team is seeking a Mendix Lead Engineer to drive the design and delivery of scalable low-code applications supporting trading, investment management, and asset allocation workflows. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in financial systems, hands-on Mendix expertise, and proven experience leading development teams in fast-paced environments.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead architecture, design, and development of Mendix-based applications for complex front-office use cases
  • Work closely with portfolio managers, traders, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Oversee a team of Mendix developers, ensuring adherence to low-code development best practices
  • Integrate applications with internal platforms and external data providers
  • Ensure application performance, scalability, and security
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines, support testing strategies, and conduct code reviews
  • Act as the bridge between business and technology teams

REQUIREMENTS
  • 5+ years in software development, including 3+ years of hands-on Mendix experience
  • Strong understanding of financial workflows: trading, portfolio construction, or asset allocation
  • Leadership experience in low-code delivery teams or projects
  • Mendix app lifecycle and microservices architecture
  • REST/SOAP APIs, event-driven architectures
  • SQL databases, real-time data processing
  • Security, compliance, and auditability within financial systems
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

NICE TO HAVE
  • Prior integration with market data platforms or financial decision engines
  • Exposure to model-driven workflows
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks (e.g., NAIC, Solvency II, SEC, FINRA)
  • Experience with DevOps tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe)
  • Experience with other low-code platforms (e.g., OutSystems, PowerApps)
