Tampa Brass and Aluminum Corporation (TBAC) is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for our second shift to operate, set up, and troubleshoot CNC machines for precision parts manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have experience working with SolidWorks for interpreting 3D models and Esprit CAM software for programming toolpaths. This role requires strong attention to detail, commitment to quality, and a solid understanding of machining practices in a fast-paced, high-precision environment.

\nPosition Overview
\nTampa Brass & Aluminum is seeking a skilled Manual Machinist with some CNC experience to join our precision manufacturing team. This position supports our production of high-quality brass and aluminum components for defense, aerospace, and energy sector clients. The ideal candidate will have strong manual machining skills with basic CNC knowledge and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
\nKey Responsibilities
\nMachining Operations
\nSet up and operate manual mills, lathes, and other conventional machine tools
\nPerform routine production machining on brass, aluminum, and other materials
\nExecute basic CNC operations under supervision
\nSelect appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for various materials
\nMaintain consistent quality standards and tolerances
\nQuality & Documentation
\nRead and interpret engineering blueprints and technical drawings
\nUse precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, and other inspection tools
\nPerform in-process quality checks and maintain production records
\nFollow established process plans and work instructions
\nIdentify and report quality issues or process improvements
\nGeneral Responsibilities
\nMaintain clean and organized work area
\nFollow all safety protocols and procedures
\nPerform routine machine maintenance and housekeeping
\nCollaborate with team members and supervisors
\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives
\nRequired Qualifications
\nExperience & Skills
\nMinimum 2 years manual mill and lathe experience (required)
\nMinimum 2 years blueprint reading experience (required)
\nBasic CNC experience preferred
\nProficiency with standard measuring tools and inspection equipment
\nUnderstanding of machining fundamentals and metal cutting principles
\nPersonal Requirements

\nPhysical ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods
\nWork Schedule & Compensation
\nSchedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Pay Range: $20.00 - $28.00/hour based on experience and skills assessment Performance Reviews: Regular performance-based increases available

Set up, operate, and maintain CNC lathes and mills to produce precision components.

Create and modify CNC programs using Esprit CAM software.

Ensure parts are machined to tight tolerances and quality standards.

Perform routine inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools.

Troubleshoot and correct machining issues to minimize downtime.

Work collaboratively with the engineering and quality departments to improve processes.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate or degree preferred.

Minimum 3+ years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.

Proficiency with SolidWorks for model interpretation.

Hands-on experience programming with Esprit (or similar CAM software).
\n \n - \n
Strong knowledge of G-code, speeds, feeds, and tooling.
\n \n - \n
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T.
\n \n - \n
Willingness to work second shift (typically 3:00 PM 11:30 PM, Monday Friday).

Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
