Job Summary:
Join our team as an Associate Security Engineer! You will support data security, compliance readiness, and audit activities across multiple teams and agencies.
This is an excellent opportunity for entry level candidates or early-career professionals passionate about data privacy, governance, and secure cloud operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the design and monitoring of secure data pipelines on AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
Collaborate with compliance, GRC, and audit teams to implement and maintain HIPAA, PCI-DSS, IRS Pub 1075, and SOC2 controls.
Support development of audit documentation, and compliance training and reporting.
Participate in security reviews, risk analyses, and remediation activities for internal and external audits.
Help configure and monitor access controls, encryption, and data masking protocols.
Collaborate with data engineering teams to ingest, process, and secure structured and unstructured data from diverse domains.
Participate in training and continuous learning for security certifications and compliance frameworks.
Basic Qualifications:
Master s or Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field (recent grads welcome).
Up to 1 2 years experience or internship in data compliance, data engineering, or security role (academic or professional).
Experience (hands-on or academic) with AWS and/or Azure.
Knowledge of GRC principles, audit readiness, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, IRS Pub 1075, and SOC2 controls.
Basic understanding of data security practices: encryption, access control, and masking.
Familiarity with Python/PySpark/SQL for data processing.
Awareness of security monitoring tools (Splunk, CloudWatch, Tenable Nessus, Metasploit) is a plus.
Relevent Security Certifications preferred.
