Job Description: PLM Technical Writer

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled PLM Technical Writer with proven expertise in creating, organizing, and managing technical documentation for Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, specifically Teamcenter PLM. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical writing proficiency, deep knowledge of documentation best practices, and experience supporting diverse audiences including end users, super users, administrators, and business units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain high-quality documentation for Teamcenter PLM including user manuals, training materials, knowledge portals, and process documentation.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Business, QA, and Support) to gather requirements and create relevant technical content.

  • Design and deliver content that addresses the needs of varied audiences end users, power users, admins, and functional/business teams.

  • Ensure consistency, clarity, and accuracy of all documentation in alignment with documentation principles and industry standards.

  • Leverage documentation tools such as MadCap Flare, Confluence, or similar platforms to create structured and engaging content.

  • Adapt documentation strategies to agile development methodologies, updating and iterating content as products evolve.

  • Maintain and organize document libraries, content management repositories, and portals.

  • Provide guidance on best practices for content creation, structuring, and lifecycle documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong technical writing experience in product lifecycle management (PLM), particularly Teamcenter PLM.

  • Demonstrated experience developing content such as user manuals, training guides, and portal content.

  • A portfolio showcasing published documentation samples.

  • Sound understanding of documentation principles, information architecture, and content best practices.

  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and communication skills.

  • Proficiency with documentation tools (MadCap Flare, Confluence, or similar platforms).

  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience working with Siemens Teamcenter PLM.

  • Proven track record of cross-functional collaboration with technical and business teams.

  • Working knowledge of XML, HTML, and CSS.

  • Technical communication certification such as STC (Society for Technical Communication) or CTC.
