Job Details

Financial Advisor Services (FAS) provides services and investment products, such as exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and mutual funds, to Vanguard's financial advisor clients. FAS serves broker-dealers, asset managers, bank trust departments, registered investment advisors, and insurance companies, both at an advisor and home office level.

As Head of Digital Analytics , you will lead a team of advanced data analysts driving strategic initiatives that enhance advisor engagement, optimize distribution channels, and inform product development. Your team will be responsible for a portfolio of strategic data projects that involve gathering data, verifying its accuracy and generating reports, dashboards, and Insights. You will partner closely with senior stakeholders to provide key insights, help with prioritization, and maximize business impact.

The role requires a blend of advanced analytical skills, strategic thinking, and leadership capabilities. The ideal candidate should possess expertise in leadership, data analysis, digital journeys, experimentation, proficiency in generating actionable insights, and experience with data visualization tools to create impactful reports and dashboards. Strong communication skills are essential for effectively interacting with senior stakeholders and conveying complex data insights in a clear and concise manner. Additionally, the ability to prioritize projects and maximize value delivery is crucial. The ideal candidate would also have a background in B2B Marketing/ Sales and/ or financial services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data scientists, product managers, and marketing strategists. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with cross-divisional teams to design and implement cutting-edge analytical frameworks that support FAS's vision and business objectives.
  • Data and Analytics: Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of large datasets from various marketing channels. Ensure the development and maintenance of advanced statistical models to estimate the effectiveness of marketing tactics and predict future performance.
  • Performance Measurement: Evaluate the incremental impact of marketing investments on business outcomes. Provide insights into the return on investment (ROI) for different marketing strategies.
  • Optimization and Recommendations: Provide actionable recommendations to optimize marketing spend and improve campaign effectiveness based on model outputs.
  • Reporting and Visualization: Create detailed reports and visualizations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders, ensuring clarity and actionable insights.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously refine models and methodologies to improve accuracy and relevance. Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in marketing analytics.
  • Scenario Analysis: Conduct scenario analyses to forecast the potential outcomes of different marketing strategies and budget allocations.
  • Develop Others: Develop the analytics community at Vanguard by coaching others internally and participating in external events.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, statistics, economics, business, or a related field. Advanced degrees (e.g., master's or PhD) are preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in people leadership, including mentoring and developing team members to achieve their full potential.
  • Strong ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives and achieve business objectives.
  • Demonstrated success in leading strategic collaborations across diverse teams to implement innovative solutions.
  • Strong understanding of marketing mix modeling techniques, including multivariate regression and time-series analysis.
  • In-depth knowledge of marketing analytics, including marketing mix modeling, marketing touch attribution, and causal inference technologies.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets from various marketing channels to understand the impact of different marketing activities on sales and other key performance indicators.
  • 6+ years of experience in marketing analytics, preferably within a consulting or corporate environment.
  • Proven track record in developing and maintaining advanced statistical models to estimate the effectiveness of marketing tactics and predict future performance.
  • Ability to translate complex analytical findings into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to create detailed reports and visualizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and solve complex marketing problems using data-driven approaches.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivering results within tight deadlines.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and emerging marketing trends.
  • Demonstrated expertise in digital journeys, experimentation, data analytics, data warehouses, and digital selling preferably in a B2B context.
  • Experience with tools and technologies such as Tableau, Power BI, Python, SQL, Redshift, AWS.
