Job Title: Principal Engineer / Architect

Role Overview
A rapidly growing Databricks consulting partner is seeking a Principal Engineer/Architect to help build one of the most impactful Data & AI practices in the industry. This role offers the opportunity to influence the Data & AI landscape for Fortune 500 enterprises and innovative startups while working on complex engagements involving cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and Databricks.
You will collaborate with some of the industry's leading experts, deepen your understanding of Databricks and adjacent technologies, lead large-scale data projects, develop best practices, and represent the organization at industry events. This position provides autonomy, flexibility, and significant influence in shaping both strategic and technical decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead a rapidly growing Data & AI practice
Recruit, train, and develop a diverse team of Data & AI specialists
Engage directly with customers and lead enterprise-scale Data & AI initiatives
Serve as a trusted SME ensuring delivery excellence across multiple engagements
Build reusable tools, accelerators, and packaged solutions
Provide thought leadership in data engineering, governance, transformations, and integration
Develop architectural blueprints, frameworks, and patterns to drive standardization
Support sales by influencing deals, scoping, solutioning, and effort estimation
Lead creation of reusable internal frameworks, accelerators, and product initiatives
Required Skills & Experience
Strong working knowledge of AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, with deep expertise in at least one
Ability to design and deploy high-performance end-to-end data architectures
Strong skills in integration, automation, and pipeline optimization
Demonstrated experience building reusable frameworks or packaged solutions
Ability to troubleshoot and optimize slow-running data pipelines
Experience migrating from legacy Hadoop or traditional data warehouses to modern cloud platforms
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
Growth mindset with a passion for continuous learning
Prior experience in consulting (Big 4 or similar) is a plus
Experience leading large cloud data platform initiatives or enterprise information management programs
Highly motivated, creative, and effective at solving complex technical problems
Actively maintains and updates technical skillsets
Deep knowledge in data engineering with the ability to architect end-to-end solutions
Composed, resourceful, and confident when working under pressure
