About the Job

We are seeking a Facilities Mechanical Engineer to join our Global Real Estate and Facilities team in North Charleston, South Carolina. In this role, you will support mechanical facilities systems, equipment maintenance, reliability engineering, building modifications, and new construction projects to enable the 787 Dreamliner program.

This position requires hands-on guidance for reactive equipment repairs, facility upgrades, and infrastructure improvements. The ideal candidate should have control systems knowledge related to industrial HVAC, compressed air systems, and paint booth operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide mechanical engineering support for buildings, equipment installations, and utility systems.
  • Diagnose asset failures using reliability tools (e.g., life cycle analysis, condition-based maintenance, fault tree analysis).
  • Assess infrastructure capital improvements and collaborate with stakeholders to recommend alternatives.
  • Develop design options, technical documents, and estimates based on customer requirements.
  • Research building codes, regulations, and standards to ensure compliance.
  • Identify materials, equipment, and services for engineering projects.
  • Prepare and review drawings, specifications, and permit applications.
  • Oversee contractor proposals and engage with government/regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain drawing archives by reviewing redlines and as-builts.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry from an accredited program.
  • 4+ years of experience in engineering, facilities, or maintenance roles in industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • Experience working with HVAC, ventilation, chilled water, and compressed air building systems.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience installing or supporting HVAC and utility systems.
  • 2+ years of experience troubleshooting, programming, or utilizing TRANE, Honeywell, Allen-Bradley, or Johnson Controls systems.
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Revit software.
  • Experience handling reactive maintenance for building mechanical systems.
