Description

SAIC is excited to announce a Network Engineering role on the Network Information Technology Enterprise Services (NITES) contract supporting our government customer NORAD NOTRHCOM in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This position is on-site and SAIC seeks an engineering technical expert to bring value to the customer through alignment with the NITES Team and provide expertise with ongoing and emerging deep technical solutions. This position will require technical long-range planning with short-term functional solutions to reach broad DoD mandates. This is a technical position and will require touch labor as well as a strategic mindset to be successful.

As a Network Engineer you will support the customers' various Wide Area Networks (WANs) and local area networks (LANs). This position will serve as the lead administrator to a team of Operate and Maintain (O&M) technicians in the Network Operations team. And act as the Senior role to interface with the Engineering Team.

Duties of Tier II & III O&M Network Engineer are as follows:
  • Tier III O&M of Juniper and Cisco routers include extensive troubleshooting at the layer 2 and layer 3 level and implementation of routing changes.
  • Implementation of routing and troubleshooting issues related to the following protocols: OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VRF's, VPN's
  • Support technical exchange meetings to help resolve other ISP and application owner issues.
  • Support problem management to conduct root cause analysis of recurring issues.
  • Provide day-to-day Operations and Maintenance (O&M) support for incident management events and outages.
  • Candidate will be on call after hours on a rotational basis.
  • Not required but experience with Palo Alto, Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA), and Forcepoint firewall equipment and applications is a plus.

Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI
  • BS + 9 years experience; or a combination of experience and additional certifications can be used in lieu of a degree
  • Must comply with DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2 Certification (i.e. Security+).
  • Certified Cisco Network Associate (CCNA) is required.

Preferred Skills and Certifications:
  • CCNP is highly preferred
  • Experience with military or coalition air domain operations and communications systems
  • Familiarity with DoD architecture frameworks and system acquisition lifecycle
  • Prior experience supporting joint or coalition DoD networks.
  • Strong system documentation, diagramming, and technical leadership skills

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
