Job Description-Level 1
The Data Center Technical Operations Engineer, Facility will be responsible for Data Center Engineering Operations within an Amazon Data Center. This includes risk management and mitigation, corrective and preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure, vendor management, and metric reporting.

Job Description-Level 1
The Data Center Technical Operations Engineer, Facility will be responsible for Data Center Engineering Operations within an Amazon Data Center. This includes risk management and mitigation, corrective and preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure, vendor management, and metric reporting.
Responsibilities
- On-Site Management: Manage shift technicians, senior shift technicians, sub-contractors, and vendors, ensuring all work is performed according to established practices and procedures.
- Performance Benchmarks: Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on all aspects of critical facility operations and maintenance.
- Project Coordination: Work with IT managers and other business leaders to coordinate projects, manage capacity, and optimize plant safety, performance, reliability, and efficiency.
- System Operations: Operate and manage both routine and emergency services on a variety of critical systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, and building monitoring systems.
- Facility Design and Build-Out: Assist in the design and build-out of new facilities and projects to increase current facility efficiency.
- Asset and Inventory Management: Manage assets and inventory.
- Recruiting: Assist in recruiting efforts.
- Customer Service: Deliver quality service and ensure all customer demands are met.
- Bachelor's Degree or Technical (Military/Trade School) Degree and relevant experience.
- 0-2 years of relevant work experience.
- 0-2 years of management experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize in a complex, fast-paced environment.
- 0-2 years of Data Center Engineering Experience.
- 0-2 years of Data Center Management Experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
- Fundamental knowledge of network design and layout as well as low voltage (copper/fiber) cabling.
