Apex Systems is seeking a network engineer for an exciting opportunity! Our client is in the midst of an exciting merger and data center consolidation, and we're looking for a Senior Network Engineer who can jump in immediately and make an impact. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and has deep experience across networking, cloud infrastructure, and systems administration.
You'll be working in a hybrid environment that's transitioning from Cisco to Fortinet, with a strong emphasis on Azure and AWS networking. If you've built or supported cloud environments from the ground up and can troubleshoot complex issues across infrastructure layers, we want to talk to you.

Key Responsibilities
- Configure, support, and troubleshoot BGP/OSPF, Cisco ASA/Firepower, and Fortinet devices (FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiAP, FortiNAC)
- Support the transition from Cisco to Fortinet across acquired environments
- Troubleshoot and optimize Azure and AWS networking and IAM configurations
- Provide support for Nutanix or other hypervisor platforms
- Administer and troubleshoot Windows Server and Active Directory
- Support SSO/IAM issues and integrations
- Monitor infrastructure using Site24x7 (experience with SolarWinds is a plus)
- Use Jira for ticketing and task tracking
- Assist with HVAC and UPS monitoring for onsite data centers (not full-scale DCs)
- 7+ years of hands-on network engineering experience
- Strong background in Cisco and Fortinet technologies
- Proven experience with cloud networking in Azure and AWS
- Experience building or supporting cloud environments from a networking perspective
- Familiarity with Nutanix, Windows sysadmin, and Active Directory
- Experience with IAM/SSO troubleshooting
- Comfortable working in a merger/integration environment
- Experience with Site24x7 monitoring
- Exposure to data center infrastructure (HVAC, UPS, etc.)
- Scripting or automation experience (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
