Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our team in Hartford, Connecticut. This is a long-term contract opportunity where you will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in network engineering, troubleshooting, and configuration, combined with hands-on experience in both hardware and software environments.

Responsibilities:
Oversee and support the wireless migration process, ensuring seamless transitions.
Assist in the shift from Extreme Networks to Arista for both LAN and wireless systems.
Handle day-to-day operations and maintenance of the Checkpoint Firewall.
Troubleshoot and resolve both minor and complex network issues efficiently.
Perform basic tasks such as patching, port activation, and maintaining accurate documentation.
Build and organize network closets, including physical setup and equipment relocation.
Collaborate with team members to implement and maintain network configurations.
Provide technical support for backup technologies and ensure network reliability.

Requirements

A minimum of 7 years of experience in network engineering or a related field.
Proficiency in Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and Checkpoint Firewall operations.
Expertise in Cisco technologies, including routers and ASA firewalls.
Hands-on experience with network migration projects and configuration management.
Familiarity with Arista and Extreme Network solutions.
Strong understanding of datacenter operations and computer hardware.
Ability to manage and maintain backup technologies effectively.
Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
