Job Details

Global Technology Solutions Group (GTSG) is a 35-year-old consulting services company focused on Mainframe systems since our inception. 

We are seeking a Mainframe Security Consultant with deep RACF systems programming experience as well as knowledge of competitive mainframe security products.  

Anticipated activities and skills include:

  • Assessment and documentation of current mainframe configuration - identifying existing groups, permissions, etc.
  • Lead workshops and other discovery activities to fully understand security requirements
  • Design of a RACF-based security environment to meet client requirements and offer improvements based on RACF capabilities
  • Implement RACF environment and migrate existing security controls to the new environment. This activity may include:
    • RACF installation and maintenance
    • Develop Role Based Access Control framework
    • Creation of RACF data structures
    • Implement RACF logging and report generation
    • Configuration of security controls for volumes, datasets, etc.
    • Configuration of security controls for other subsystems (DB2, IMS, CICS, etc.)
    • Potentially design and implement - Pass Phrase, Single Sign On and other facilities
  • Provide consulting services to Client's IT Security Logon ID Administrators, Developers, Technical Support and other mainframe staff as needed
  • Excellent customer-facing skills

It would be a bonus to have z/OS and broad ISV experience as well as REXX skills.

At the present time, all activities are remote and unlikely to change.  Compensation based on  experience, architecture & leadership skills among other factors.
