Director of Engineering

What will your day look like? As a Director of Engineering, you will:
Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance management across a distributed engineering team.
Define and implement the engineering roadmap in alignment with company goals.
Oversee architecture and technical decisions to ensure scalability, reliability, and security.
Develop engineering KPIs, manage sprints, and remove blockers to maintain velocity.
Stay hands-on with technical oversight by reviewing design documents, code, and system architecture.
Evaluate and integrate new technologies, especially in AI and related tooling.
Collaborate with the CTO on budgeting, resourcing, and long-term planning.
Foster a collaborative culture of accountability, learning, and innovation.

You will be a good fit for the Director of Engineering role if you have:
8+ years of experience in software engineering roles, including 3+ years in engineering leadership.
Proven success managing and scaling engineering teams in a high-growth environment.
Proficiency with generative AI systems and associated tooling.
Strong development skills in modern programming languages, particularly Python.
Deep familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Google Cloud Platform), distributed systems, and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong understanding of relational databases (Postgres, MySQL).
Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills.
An analytical mindset with a bias for action and pragmatic problem-solving.

Nice to Have:
Experience in fintech or other regulated industries.
Pre-sales or client demo experience.
Exposure to advanced data infrastructure or MLOps/LLMOps practices.
