SAIC's National Intelligence Community (NIC) business unit provides Information Technology, Engineering, and Mission solutions and services supporting digital modernization programs in areas such as cloud, cyber, data, AI/ML, and software.
We seek Software Engineers to p rovide System Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) services in conducting acquisition and technical support activities in Fort Meade, MD. Those supporting this new program will c reate and/or adopt innovative IT solutions and development through the use of both government and industry tools/software. Aggressively work to reduce/eliminate legacy systems by transitioning their key capabilities to modernized tools and technical debt from services. Embrace a future where capabilities and solutions are deployed across a variety of networks and environments, at varying levels of classifications.
The successful Software Engineer is experienced in d eveloping, maintaining, and enhancing complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements. Reviewing and testing software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results. Resolving software problem reports. Utilizing software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment. Providing specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.

Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

- Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements
- Debug existing software and correct defects
- Provide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process
standards - Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features
- Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments
- Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories
- Write or review software and system documentation
Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 4 additional years of experience can be substituted in lieu of degree
- 10 years of experience as a Software Engineer
- Experience with some or all of the following: HTML/CSS, MongoDB, Express Web Server, Vue.js and the Vuetify Framework, Node JS
- Knowledge of: Docker Configuration and Management, JSON manipulation, presentation libraries and
dashboard composition, Corporate Authentication Services and application integration, Gitlab procedures/documentation and proper coding etiquette - Experience with Parallel Programming, Assembly Language Programming and Microarchitecture-specific Software Development
