Duration: 9+ Months
Location: VA-Arlington, Hybrid 1-2 days onsite
Overview: Every Turnberry consultant belongs to a practice, an internal group of consultants and leaders with shared experience and expertise. Each of these practices aligns to one of the core services Turnberry offers to clients. As a Technical Writer, you will join Turnberry's Business Transformation practice. Turnberry's Business Transformation practice is dedicated to diagnosing and addressing core business challenges including regulatory compliance, full-scale implementation, managing change and driving continuous improvement across transformation initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Work with SMEs to understand as-is/to-be processes and update Benefits Administrator Guide accordingly (Audience for guide is Benefits Administrators)
Create change communications to Coop leaders explaining the change of 401K administrators and the benefits to their employees
Help coordinate training materials for Benefits Administrators for live, recorded, and self-study courses for Benefit Administrators next summer in advance of the cut-over
Creation of job aids/training materials for Benefits Administrators
Content Creation: Create technical content such as user manuals, online help systems, release notes, FAQs, and other technical documentation that meets the needs of the target audience
Content Maintenance: Update and maintain technical content to ensure that it remains accurate and up-to-date with the latest changes to the product, service, or process
Collaboration: Collaborate with subject matter experts, developers, engineers, and other stakeholders to obtain the necessary information and ensure that the technical content is technically accurate and complete
Writing Style: Use clear and concise writing style that is appropriate for the target audience and consistent with the organization's style guidelines
Content Delivery: Deliver technical content in a variety of formats, such as online help systems, printed manuals, and electronic documents
Document Design: Design and format technical documents to make them easy to read and navigate
Quality Control: Ensure all technical content meets the organization's quality standards and specifications
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, related field, or equivalent work experience
At least 3 years of technical writing experience (ideally 5+ years)
Some experience with instructional design (e.g., creating job aids and other training materials)
Some experience with/knowledge of 401K plans is highly desired
Unflappable demeanor - able to work on high visibility, high pressure program
Proactive and driven nature with strong diplomacy skills
Good communication skills, problem-solving skills, and teamwork abilities are necessary for this role
Attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines
The salary range for this role is $95,000 to $135,000 or the hourly equivalent.
