Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Microsoft Azure Architect to lead the design, implementation, and management of our cloud infrastructure within Microsoft Azure. This role is critical to ensuring the firm s technology environment is secure, scalable, and aligned with legal industry compliance standards. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in Azure services and a strong understanding of law firm operations, data governance, and confidentiality requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement secure, scalable, and resilient Azure-based solutions tailored to legal workflows and document management systems.
Develop cloud architecture roadmaps aligned with the firm s strategic goals and regulatory requirements.
Ensure Azure environments meet legal industry standards for data privacy, including HIPAA, GDPR, and ABA cybersecurity guidelines.
Implement robust identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and threat protection strategies.
Lead migration of on-premises systems to Azure, including virtual desktops, case management platforms, and document repositories.
Integrate Azure services with existing legal applications (e.g., iManage, NetDocuments, Elite 3E).
Establish governance policies for resource provisioning, monitoring, and cost control.
Monitor usage and performance metrics to optimize cloud spend and system efficiency.
Work closely with IT leadership, legal operations, and external vendors to ensure seamless cloud adoption.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to IT staff on Azure best practices.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Familiarity with legal practice management systems and document management platforms.
Experience with hybrid cloud environments and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
Knowledge of automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Terraform, Azure DevOps).
Ability to translate legal business requirements into technical solutions.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification required.
Minimum 5 years of experience in Azure architecture and cloud infrastructure.
Experience working in or with law firms or legal service providers strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of legal data confidentiality, compliance, and risk management.
