Overview

The Senior Acquisition Test Engineer plays a central role in supporting the client's acquisition and test evaluation initiatives related to cybersecurity, aircraft/weapons systems, and/or IT systems. This position requires a blend of technical acumen, knowledge of testing processes, and cybersecurity expertise

This position performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Cayuse.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct acquisition test projects and achieve program objectives in partnership with government and federal agencies.
  • Evaluate technical documentation for Avionics and RF data links to uncover cybersecurity design gaps.
  • Develop robust testing plans and methods geared towards validating system vulnerabilities.
  • Present well-analyzed data from testing in clear and actionable formats for clients.
  • Collaborate with operational testers and pilots to pinpoint and address potential cybersecurity concerns.
  • Foster cyber-resilient environments and strategies for defense platforms.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Engineering.
  • Over 10 years of relevant technical experience in the field of cybersecurity or related disciplines.
  • Possess an active Secret clearance.
  • Proficiency in government acquisition, testing, and cybersecurity processes; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; exceptional communication and organizational abilities; and self-directed work ethic with minimal supervision.
  • Fulfillment of the clients' Cyber Workforce Program requirements expected at the time of hire.
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.
  • Must possess problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to respond effectively to customers with a sense of urgency.
  • Proficient in Microsoft and Adobe toolsets, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to handle and manage multiple tasks at any one time.
  • Ability to forge new relationships, individual and teaming in nature.
  • Must be a Self-starter, that can work independently and as part of a team.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in cyber test and evaluation.
  • In-depth understanding of the client's cybersecurity testing protocols.
  • Experience with Mission Based Cyber Risk Assessments.
  • Knowledge of Cybersecurity Assess and Authorize (A&A) within the RMF.
  • Established cybersecurity practices within DoD or military services.
  • Proficiency in software development and system security engineering.

Working Conditions
  • Professional office environment.
  • Ability to work on-site at Eglin Airforce Base, FL.
  • Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.
  • Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time looking at computer screen.
  • May be asked to work a flexible schedule which may include holidays.
  • May be asked to travel 25% to 50% for business or professional development purposes.
  • May be asked to work hours outside of normal business hours.

Pay Range

USD $110,000.00 - USD $120,000.00 /Yr.
