Specialist, Technology (Hybrid)

The Specialist, Technology, will play a key role in supporting, maintaining, and enhancing travel technology systems and services to meet business needs in Japan. Specialist, Technology (Hybrid)

The Specialist, Technology, will play a key role in supporting, maintaining, and enhancing travel technology systems and services to meet business needs in Japan. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, troubleshooting technical issues, coordinating system development and enhancement initiatives/projects and ensuring high-quality service delivery. The candidate must demonstrate technical proficiency, effective communication, and the ability to adapt in a dynamic business environment.
As the Specialist, Technology, you will
- Provide first-line and second-line support for IT systems, hardware, and software across the Japan office
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize business disruption
- Monitor system performance and ensure uptime through regular maintenance
- Support technology projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and new implementations
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure successful delivery of technology solutions
- Serve as the escalation point for complex technical issues, providing advanced troubleshooting and resolution strategies
- Collaborate with other technology departments (global and regional teams) to ensure cohesive and comprehensive support
- Identify opportunities to optimize processes and systems to improve operational efficiency
- Research and recommend innovative technology solutions aligned with business goals
- Serve as the local SME for agent-facing and client-facing products and solutions, providing in-depth technical knowledge and guidance
About you
- Bilingual - Japanese & English speaking
- Excellent understanding of help desk technology, processes and metrics
- Minimum 3 years' experience in travel operations and at least 1 years' experience in GDS and/or agent- facing technology solutions
- Comprehensive knowledge of profile, PNR structure and front-mid-back office systems, front-mid-and back-office processes; including on-line systems and automation fulfillment
- Strong understanding of business, financial analysis and reporting principles
- Strong communications and customer facing skills
- Able to articulate opportunities, trends and risks
- Ability to multitask and prioritize within a continuously changing environment
