Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is hiring Aerodynamics Engineers (Experienced or Senior) to support our Aerodynamic Configuration team based in Everett, WA.

The Aerodynamic Configuration team is a key part of the Flight Sciences organization, providing design and analysis support for the aerodynamic layout and configuration of all development and in-production aircraft within Boeing Commercial Airplanes. Our team focuses on optimizing the aircraft's aerodynamic shape to enhance performance, efficiency, and handling qualities throughout the entire airplane lifecycle-from initial concept and product development to certification, production, and fleet support.

We collaborate closely with other Flight Sciences groups, Sales & Marketing, Product Development, Flight Test, and regulatory agencies to ensure the aerodynamic configuration meets all design and certification requirements across all flight phases, including takeoff, climb, cruise, descent, and landing. As an Aerodynamic Configuration engineer, you will play a vital role in shaping the aerodynamic characteristics that contribute to the safety, performance, and fuel efficiency of current and future Boeing Commercial Airplane products.

Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced and Senior Level Aerodynamics Engineers.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Performs aerodynamic/aerothermodynamics design and analysis of flight vehicles to ensure that the vehicle meets requirements.
  • Key contributor to developing new and improving existing technologies, tools and processes to enhance technology readiness, improve vehicle performance and reduce cycle time and cost.
  • Conducts, coordinates and/or develops test requirements to meet test objectives using established processes.
  • Assesses the impact of proposed regulations to determine the effect on cost, performance, producibility, maintainability and safety.
  • Supports certification and qualification processes of the aerodynamic/ aero thermal characteristics of flight vehicles. Assists in training others.
  • Works under general supervision.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in aerodynamic configuration design and analysis.
  • 3+ years of experience working with aerospace engineering principles (Aerodynamics, Airplane performance, or Flight Operations).

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 10+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in aerodynamic performance analysis and optimization techniques.
  • Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) tools and wind tunnel testing.
  • Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations as they pertain to aircraft performance.
  • Familiarity with aircraft design software such as CATIA, Enovia, or similar CAD/PLM tools.

Summary pay range for Experienced (Level 3): $100,300 - $135,700

Summary pay range for Senior (Level 4): $121,550 - $164,450
