Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Position Description

This role will join a multi-functional Site Reliability Engineering team for a large financial client in Jacksonville, FL and Cary, NC in a hybrid model.

Your future duties and responsibilities
Run the Production Environment:
-Monitor system availability and take a holistic view of system health.
-Ensure high availability and stellar performance for our users.
Build and Manage Infrastructure:
-Develop software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications.
-Improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market for our suite of software solutions.
Optimize System Performance:
-Measure and optimize system performance, always pushing our capabilities forward.
-Innovate for continual improvement, staying ahead of customer needs.
Operational Support and Engineering:
-Gather and analyze metrics from operating systems and applications for performance tuning and fault finding.
-Collaborate with development teams to enhance services through rigorous testing and release procedures.
Automation and Scalability:
-Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning.
-Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts.
-Balance Speed and Reliability:
-Balance feature development speed with well-defined service-level objectives.
-Prioritize reliability while delivering innovative solutions.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Overall 8+ years of relevant experience and 5 years of SRE Specific experience
Good knowledge on Google Cloud Platform preferred
Hands on in defining and creation of CUJ, SLO, SLI, Error Budgeting based on NFR.
Strong Knowledge on IAAC - Terraform, GitHub, Docker Images
Strong Scripting like Bash, PowerShell, Python, Ansible
Good knowledge on containers like Kubernetes
Design and implementation of automated workflows
Experience of reducing TOIL in an SDLC or IT operations environment
Good understanding of SCM Tools: Git, GitHub, SonarQube
Having fair understanding of ITSM process
Proactive and analytical mindset
Fair understand on build and release tools like Maven, Ant, Gradle, Puppet, Jenkins, TeamCity, Udeploy
Knowledge on Microservices
Any programming languages like Java, C#.
Understanding on CI/CD pipelines
Understanding of architecture and implementation of three tier web applications

Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field

Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $85,800 - $190,100.
