Job Summary

ClarksTech LLC is seeking an experienced Cognos Developer with Ab Initio expertise to support our enterprise financial services client in Berkeley Heights, NJ. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain scalable business intelligence and ETL solutions that enable data-driven decision making across financial and operational domains.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop Cognos BI reports, dashboards, and cubes using Framework Manager, Report Studio, and Query Studio.

  • Build, test, and optimize Ab Initio ETL graphs, plans, and data flows for large-scale data integration.

  • Perform data modeling, performance tuning, and troubleshooting across Cognos and Ab Initio environments.

  • Collaborate with business analysts and data engineers to gather requirements and deliver actionable insights.

  • Integrate Ab Initio ETL processes with Cognos BI reporting layers to ensure seamless data delivery.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation for data flows, mappings, and report specifications.

  • Participate in Agile development cycles, sprint planning, and production support activities.

  • Conduct unit testing and validation to ensure data quality, accuracy, and completeness.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with IBM Cognos BI Suite (Framework Manager, Report Studio, Transformer, Query Studio).

  • 3+ years of Ab Initio ETL development experience (Graphs, Plans, DML, Continuous Flows, Metadata Hub).

  • Strong knowledge of SQL, data warehousing, and ETL performance optimization.

  • Experience with Unix/Linux shell scripting and automation.

  • Familiarity with Git/Bitbucket or other version control systems.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in financial services or payment processing domain.

  • Exposure to cloud data platforms such as AWS, Snowflake, or Azure.

  • Working experience in Agile/DevOps environments.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
