Description & Job Summary:
The Cloud Security Architect is to develop and maintain the high-level technical design plans for our cloud migration effort. This individual will provide technical consulting and recommendations across various cloud security technologies.
As a Cloud Security Architect, you will closely work with cloud infrastructure and teams, cybersecurity teams to focus on security for the AWS platform (as well as other cloud platforms such as Azure and Google Cloud Platform). Typical responsibilities for this position include designing and implementing security features for various cloud services and virtualization, network, and application support technologies.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with various IT and business stakeholders to understand the cloud strategy.
- Create security patterns for moving applications to the cloud
- Analyze and understand the overarching threat landscape for our environment and develop strategies to deliver efficient, comprehensive security solutions to meet cybersecurity needs.
- Own all aspects of the cloud security portfolio definition, including vendor integration, platform integration, and monitoring for cloud platforms.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for the cloud security services and features, and act as an evangelist to build internal awareness across the organization for cloud security practices.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate the security vision for cloud platforms.
- Strategy & Planning
- Partner with the Security, IT Leadership teams, and the business to understand existing Risks and Business initiatives to feed the cloud security priorities.
- Develop cloud security requirements and technologies needed for cloud foundation and cloud migration.
- Leverages industry-leading frameworks such as NIST and CSA to identify the baseline security controls to be established for each cloud service.
- Develop high-level and low-level architectural documents needed for the security of cloud migration.
- Develop a policy-as-code architecture to implement information security policies on a cloud platform.
- Research various security tools and technologies to recommend the best solution for cloud migration.
- Perform proof of concept with identified technologies
- Support deploying recommended security tools and technologies
- Delivery and execution
- Ensure the implementation of the technology selected for securing the cloud platforms.
- Participates in iteration planning sessions, Portfolio demo, and retrospectives
- Condenses complex technical concepts into non-technical language for stakeholders
Required Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field
- 15+ years of increasing scope of work with development, design, and architecture roles
- Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and managing cloud security tools and integration with external tools and technologies.
- Possesses a high degree of security knowledge around securing cloud environments
- Perform security assessments of cloud platforms as well as related technology implementations, and be able to implement technical solutions within each platform.
- Deep technical understanding of AWS or Azure Ecosystem of cloud services, their inter-relationships, and the impact of systems and applications on the existing and future environment.
- Experience working in and designing complex cloud solutions, leading work-streams on transformational programs, and ensuring conformance to agreed design standards, methods, and tools, including prototyping new tools and applications where appropriate.
- Ownership of cloud project challenges and the implementation teams' technical escalation point.
- Serve as a cloud platform security subject matter expert.
- General working knowledge related to: Networking and security infrastructure | Web, spam, and anti-virus filtering | Database infrastructure | PBX, VoIP, and unified communications| Enterprise client deployment and management | Remote access solutions | Compliance | UNIX/Linux | SAN / NAS storage devices virtualization, including VMWare | Backup & disaster recovery
Preferred Job Qualifications:
- Maintain high security competency around the Office 365 and Azure services.
- At least one certification in ISC2, such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional, Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
- Certifications for cloud security from public cloud vendors such as AZURE, AWS, and/or Google Cloud Platform
