Duration: Direct Hire
Compensation: $75K - 110K
Work Requirements: , Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S.

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence Analyst/Coordinator with a specialization in trend analysis and Competitive Intelligence to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in analytics, competitive intelligence, and business collaboration. They will be responsible for analyzing available public and private data to uncover critical business and competitive intelligence questions, presenting insights in analytically sound reports, and effectively communicating findings across diverse business, scientific, and technical audiences.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to identify key business and competitive intelligence questions and objectives.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret diverse datasets to derive actionable insights for decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Develop and maintain business data models, dashboards, and reports focused on competitive intelligence.
  • Work within an agile delivery framework to adapt quickly to changing priorities and business needs.
  • Communicate and recommend findings and insights across a broad audience of business, scientific, and technical professionals.
  • Provide thought leadership in competitive intelligence strategies and methodologies.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and competitive landscapes to inform analysis and recommendations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience (5+ years preferred) in business intelligence, analytics, competitive intelligence, or a relevant field.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and SQL. Experience with Python, R, or similar tools is a plus; however, this is not a pure technical coding position. Knowing how to find and use tools to provide an answer versus building a new one is more important.
  • Strong understanding of competitive intelligence concepts, methodologies, and tools.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex findings to diverse business audiences.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently when required.
  • Proven track record of working effectively in an agile environment with rapidly changing priorities.

Key Attributes of a Great Candidate:
  • Someone who can show that they have the skills/experience (e.g., project samples, reports generated from work; dashboards or apps) using some of these elements, and the drive to learn and do more without daily direction:
    • Knowing where to go (or how to determine) to see if existing data, models, or competitive intelligence is available to answer the question.
    • Work building or extending existing recommendation engines that can be applied to internal datasets.
    • Building or using existing NLP models, or similar, to garner sentiment analysis across text or other blob-type data.
    • Comfort with exploring existing public models to see if they can be adapted for our needs.
    • Any image or audio analysis using learning models, or the ability to take an existing public model and refine for specific use.
Soft Skills:
  • Must be comfortable questioning and discussing requirement needs with non-technical audiences.
  • Must be able to verbally represent findings to include recommendations, risk, or unknowns.
  • Confident in their abilities, but willing to discuss other methods or potential gaps in the findings professionally.
  • Must be comfortable with change and iteration; we deal with people who don't always know the best question to start with, and agricultural data that can shift like the weather.
