Sr Data Validation Analyst
Contract to Hire (W2 Only, No C-C)
Austin, TX (Onsite)

We are seeking a Sr Data Validation Analyst to focus on manual testing of the SQL Ad-Hoc Queries and the datasets extracted.
Primary duties will include manual validation of queries and results, and validating the results against other systems/reports.

Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the Regulatory Reporting team to understand internal and external requirements for dataset creation and queries.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and reuse, enabling us to become more efficient and nimble in responding to regulatory needs.
  • Utilize relationships with other data domain owners to understand best practices and data availability
  • Perform data mapping and gap analysis.
  • Document Data Requirements Specifications based on interpretation of Business Requirements, discussions with stakeholders, and overall knowledge of the data.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of data across all domains and entities.
  • Provide clarity for business terminology and relationships to data structures.
  • Assist with root cause analysis and remediation of production support issues related to data integrity.
Desired Experience
  • 10+ years of Data related work experience is required
  • Must have 5+ year experience in data testing, including regression testing
  • Proficient of SQL or other query languages.
  • Strong knowledge in Snowflake, SQL Server, Oracle, Data Lake (AWS),
  • Experience with Tableau Prep and/or Alteryx will be extremely helpful.
  • Familiar with data modeling practices and standards across conceptual, logical, and physical levels.
  • Familiar with database design and development methodologies
  • Experience working with software development lifecycle tools, such as Jira

Manual Testing Deliverables
  • Analyze the query requirements and acceptance criteria for new fields, filters, and optimizations in the standard extracts.
  • Define, execute, and analyze test cases collaborating with the team to validate achievement of acceptance criteria
  • Expert level Microsoft Excel experience that can provide additional validation methods solutions and the ability to augment data merging and reporting process
  • Must be familiar with formatting, Pivot Tables, and vLookup formulas in Excel; these will be used heavily in ingesting & matching data
  • Determine test cases, test scenarios and cross-system validations
  • Create Test plans and test cases for our "Standard Data Extracts"
  • Comprehensive documentation and reporting of identified data anomalies

  • Work well under pressure with deadlines
  • Display flexibility and proficiency at setting priorities
  • Proven ability to be proactive, possess flexible attitude, learn new skills, and manage ambiguity.
