Job Details

Are you passionate about cybersecurity and ready to make an impact on national security?

Leidos Innovations Center (LiNC), within our CISO and Digital Modernization Sector, is looking for a dynamic IT Security professional to join our Leidos team, where you'll help fortify critical systems, lead the charge on compliance, and ensure secure operations across a range of environments. This isn't just a job, it's a mission.

This role includes a combination of duties to protect information, and maintain security controls, for an entire system, site, or program to reduce risk.
  • Defend and Comply: Safeguard high-value systems by ensuring they meet government cybersecurity standards. You'll manage and maintain compliance documentation, conduct vulnerability scans, implement STIGs and SCAP benchmarks, and help keep our security posture audit ready.
  • Maintain Secure Systems: Install, configure, and maintain a range of platforms including VMware, Windows, and RedHat-based systems, ensuring performance and security at every layer.
  • Drive Strategic Projects: Work side-by-side with senior ISSEs on time-sensitive initiatives such as infrastructure deployments, software rollouts, and coordination with key stakeholders including customers and subcontractors.
  • Adapt and Evolve: Take on evolving responsibilities in a fast-paced environment-where innovation, problem-solving, and security-first thinking are the norm.

Basic Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizenship and Active Secret Clearance - Plus, the ability to obtain Special Access Programs eligibility.
  • Bachelor's degree with 2-4 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and hands-on experience.
  • Certification Ready - Must hold a DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher certification (e.g., Security+).
  • Windows Professional - Comfortable operating within Windows domain environments: managing Active Directory, DNS, remote systems, NTFS permissions, SMB shares, and common admin tools.
  • Linux-Ready Mindset - Basic knowledge of Linux distributions and a commitment to completing a RHCSA course within 1 year.
  • Compliance & Risk Knowledge - Hands-on experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and maintaining compliance through SCAP, STIGs, and vulnerability reports (e.g., Nessus).
  • Change Management Acumen - Understand change control processes and the critical role they play in secure operations.

Preferred Qualifications
  • RedHat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification.
  • Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) certification.
  • Experience working with Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Exchange, or Microsoft SharePoint technologies.
  • Experience working in virtual environments.

At Leidos, we don't want someone who "fits the mold"-we want someone who melts it down and builds something better. This is a role for the restless, the over-caffeinated, the ones who ask, "what's next?" before the dust settles on "what's now."

If you're already scheming step 20 while everyone else is still debating step 2... good. You'll fit right in.
