Position: Mainframe Developer / Lead (Eligibility Domain)

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe professional with strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and IMSDB to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working on eligibility systems within industries such as Insurance, Healthcare, or Government Benefits. This role requires not only technical proficiency but also leadership experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with business and technology teams.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain Mainframe applications (COBOL, JCL, DB2, IMSDB) supporting eligibility systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, architects, and testers, to gather requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
Utilize tools such as JIRA, Confluence, GitHub, Jenkins, ServiceNow, MQ, and SonarQube for project management, development, and deployment activities.
Ensure compliance with internal and external policies, rules, and regulations.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues, ensuring system stability and reliability.
Manage and mentor a small software development team (2+ years of team management experience preferred).
Support end-to-end software development lifecycle (SDLC) including design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
Provide subject matter expertise in eligibility determination for industries such as Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Medicaid/Medicare, or Government Benefit programs.
Required Technical Skills
Proficiency in Mainframe technologies: COBOL, JCL, DB2, IMSDB (Mandatory).
Experience with tools: JIRA, Confluence, GitHub, Jenkins, ServiceNow, MQ, SonarQube.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Knowledge of system development lifecycle methodologies.
Familiarity with eligibility determination processes in Insurance, Healthcare, or Government Benefits domains.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with technical teams and business partners.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Ability to balance multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of experience managing software development teams.
Previous experience working on eligibility systems in Insurance, Healthcare, or Government domains.
Understanding of compliance, data security, and regulatory standards.
