Project Manager for Leading Healthcare System Remote
Are you a Project Manager who has experience with EPIC LIS to EMR Interface Integrations? A well-renowned Massachusetts based healthcare system is seeking an experienced Project Manager (remote, contract) to lead and oversee the implementation of bi-directional interfaces between its Epic Lab Information System (LIS) and various physician office Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems. This role requires deep understanding of LIS interoperability, interface mapping, and a strong command of project management best practices within a clinical environment.

Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate interface integration projects between the Epic LIS and external physician EMRs.
- Define project scope, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements in collaboration with technical and clinical stakeholders.
- Work closely with interface analysts, technical teams, and third-party vendors to manage bi-directional data exchange for lab orders and results.
- Facilitate interface mapping activities to ensure accurate translation of data elements between systems.
- Monitor and manage interface performance, including error log analysis, resolution tracking, and communication with appropriate teams.
- Maintain documentation of interface configurations, workflows, and project milestones.
- Report regularly on project status to internal leadership and stakeholders, escalating issues as needed.
- Ensure all integrations comply with industry standards (HL7, HIPAA) and organizational security policies.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Project Manager in a healthcare IT environment, ideally with a focus on clinical system integration.
- Strong understanding of Epic systems, particularly Beaker/LIS, and EMR platforms used in outpatient or physician office settings.
- Experience managing HL7 interfaces, including knowledge of interface engine tools and workflows.
- Familiarity with interface mapping, validation, and troubleshooting.
- Experience monitoring and analyzing interface error logs and managing resolution processes.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced, regulated healthcare environment.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP or equivalent Project Management certification.
- Prior hands-on experience with Epic Bridges or a similar interface engine.
- Clinical or lab systems experience in a multi-hospital or large health system setting.
- Bachelor s degree in healthcare, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
