Associate Structural Analysis Engineer

The Boeing International Space Station Program is seeking an Associate Structural Analysis Engineer to join our team in Houston, TX.

The selected candidate will be responsible for structural loads and dynamics analyses on the ISS Program under mentorship of experienced engineers. Our analyses cover all phases of dynamic loading environments related to spaceflight hardware including shipping, testing, launch, on-orbit, and return. Our team collaborates with many other engineering subsystems on the ISS program at Boeing and NASA, which provides an excellent opportunity for career growth and networking. We also support numerous programs throughout the Boeing Company.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Perform structural dynamics analyses and finite element modeling using established tools and processes.
  • Modeling of input forces to the ISS, including plume impingement forces, extra-vehicular activity induced forces, propulsive attitude control and reboost forces, and docking mechanism forces.
  • Perform process improvements on team analysis tools and processes to enhance first time quality and productivity. This involves coding in Matlab and other software languages.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes , lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience with Matlab, computer programming and structural dynamics
