We re looking for a zOS Automation/Software Engineer to:

• design, build test and maintain

o GDPS scripts to manage unplanned exception conditions, and/or outages to implement a real-time, long-distance disk replication disaster recovery solution along with rapid restart capability for our z/OS systems

o Automation, Monitoring and System Availability solutions in a highly automated zOS Mainframe environment

o Disaster Recovery Solution verifications and improvement

o Automate Test cases

• apply a broad range of software engineering practices, from analyzing user needs and developing new features to automated testing and deployment
• ensure the quality, security, reliability, and compliance of our solutions by applying our digital principles and implementing both functional and non-functional requirements
• build observability into our solutions, monitor production health, help to resolve incidents, and remediate the root cause of risks and issues
• understand, represent, and advocate for client needs
• share knowledge and expertise with colleagues , help with hiring, and contribute regularly to our engineering culture and internal communities.

Your team:

In our agile operating model, crews are aligned to larger products and services fulfilling client needs and encompass multiple autonomous pods. You ll be working in the Mainframe and Midrange Services team in Raleigh, NC and you will interact with other Mainframe Engineering teams and the related Support teams in Basel/Zurich Switzerland, Weehawken New Jersey, and Pune India.

We are a team of technical specialists who are responsible for the planning, development, maintenance as well as problem management in the area of zOS Automation and Disaster solutions (Business Continuity Management). We analyze and realize automation solution in close co-operation with the appropriate software owners and clients.

In addition we providing 24x7 support by On-call service for applications which run on the IBM zOS platform covering multiple regions in different time zones. We provide services based on the Service Level Agreement (SLA) and ensure the System availability entities for all production-, test- and development environments.

Your expertise:

You have:

• Knowledge of zOS Mainframes and Software, in particular SA390/GDPS and BMC Mainview software products would be helpful
• Experience in IBM Parallel Sysplex technology
• Experience in problem analyzing and software development
• Experience in AI software and its implementation with willingness to use it for zOS Mainframe environment (for AI Automation Engineering)
• Programming experience
• Automate Test cases with Robotic software like Discentis would be helpful
