(Summary) We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Network Architect with expertise in Cloud technologies (Azure and Oracle) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare IT systems and solutions, with a proven track record of designing complex architecture for cloud-based and on-premises environments. This will include designing and implementing secure, scalable, and highly available hybrid and multi-cloud network architectures for healthcare environments. This role demands a strong understanding of on-premises network infrastructure, Public Cloud Platforms, especially Azure, and a solid grounding in Health-compliant network designs. As a Senior Network Architect, you will work closely with the other Architects in the team, business stakeholders, development teams, and senior leadership to deliver innovative and scalable solutions that align with the organization's goals and meet the unique needs of the healthcare sector, ensuring secure data exchange and regulatory compliance across all environments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the design and provide implementation oversight of complex cloud-based, on-premise and hybrid solutions using Microsoft Azure, Oracle cloud technologies, and other relevant platforms Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, project managers, and developers, to ensure that solutions are aligned with organizational goals and meet the needs of the healthcare industry Provide thought leadership and best practices in architecture design, cloud strategy, and integration across on-premise and cloud environments Design secure, scalable, and high-performance cloud and on-premise architectures while ensuring compliance with healthcare industry regulations such as PIPEDA, HIPAA and other relevant standards Guide teams in developing solutions that optimize cloud resources, improve system performance, and reduce costs Assess and recommend new cloud technologies, tools, and best practices for improving healthcare IT systems Conduct architectural reviews with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure solutions are feasible and align with overall business strategy Mentor junior architects and other technical staff, providing guidance on architectural design, best practices, and industry trends Lead migration projects from legacy systems to modern cloud-based solutions in the healthcare environment Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in cloud computing, healthcare technology, and regulations, ensuring the solutions delivered are innovative and compliant
Qualifications:
10+ years of general Information Technology experience 7-10 years of progressive experience in network engineering and architecture, in a Solutions Architect role
At least 5+ years of experience in the healthcare industry
Strong knowledge of design and architectural patterns, IT standards and policies In-depth understanding of cloud security principles and best practices, particularly in a healthcare context Knowledge of infrastructure components, virtualization technologies, middleware / SOA and SaaS/Paas/IaaS solutions
Varied knowledge of COTS applications, with a focus on the Networking space
Ability to influence decision makers, peers and technical resources in the field of practice Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, and other data exchange formats
Strong analytical skills Detail-oriented with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and manage competing priorities.
Deep understanding of healthcare data analytics, machine learning, or AI initiatives Knowledge of business analysis, business process, applications/systems engineering, data/information and infrastructure/technology architectures
Proven experience in architecting and implementing hybrid and multi-cloud network infrastructure Proficiency in architecting network infrastructure, including Wi-Fi, telephony, and unified communications (UC) systems
Well versed with nuances of core networking concepts, such as network topologies, protocols, network devices, address & routing, switching & virtualization, Network security, management & automation Strong expertise cloud platform networking for example, with Azure, Oracle and Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) (e.g., VPCs, Shared VPC, Cloud Interconnect, Cloud VPN, Cloud NAT, Network Intelligence Center) Solid experience with on-prem networking (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, DNS, NAT, VLAN, etc.) Proficiency in network security principles (e.g., Zero Trust, perimeter security, segmentation) Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Deployment Manager) for network automation Knowledge of SD-WAN, load balancers, DNS services, and global traffic management Experience with network monitoring, observability, and performance optimization tools Preferred Work Experience: Experience with other cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform) and hybrid cloud environments Experience in architecting enterprise level IT networking for the healthcare industry Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO, SOC2, HIPAA) in relation to network security and architecture Strong experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), including Azure Active Directory, Azure Storage, and Azure Networking Proven expertise in Oracle technologies, including Oracle Cloud and integration with other platforms Experience with cloud migration strategies and working with cloud-native technologies (containers, Kubernetes, etc.) Strong background in designing solutions for scalability, performance, and availability in cloud environments
