Description
We are looking for a skilled Systems Administrator II to join our team on a contract basis in Washington, District of Columbia. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation, configuration, and maintenance of both physical and virtual systems. This position requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting, optimizing system performance, and implementing critical updates to maintain system integrity and reliability.
Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain systems along with associated hardware to ensure optimal performance.
Manage system infrastructures, including storage allocation and performance tuning.
Implement best practices for system specifications and configuration management.
Perform regular backup and recovery procedures for IT infrastructure to safeguard data.
Analyze system performance logs to identify anomalies and resolve technical issues.
Apply critical patches and updates to maintain system security and functionality.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address technical challenges and develop solutions.
Communicate technical solutions and procedures effectively to colleagues and stakeholders.
Assist in moderately complex projects while providing guidance to other technical staff when needed.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, such as HIPAA, in system operations.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 2-4 years of experience, or a Master's degree with less than 2 years of experience.
Proficiency in system installation, configuration, and maintenance.
Strong understanding of storage management, backup technologies, and system recovery processes.
Experience in troubleshooting technical issues and implementing effective solutions.
Knowledge of configuration management practices and critical patch application.
Ability to analyze performance logs and optimize system functionality.
Effective communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical teams.
Familiarity with industry regulations, including HIPAA, and adherence to best practices.
