Job Title: Network Engineer
Location: Littleton, CO


Position Summary:

The Fault Isolation & Management (FIM) Engineer will be a key member of the Client Operations Center (NOC), responsible for end-to-end fault detection, isolation, and resolution within the Transport and Networking infrastructure. The FIM Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring high availability and performance across the 4G/5G wireless network, supporting both routine incidents and emergency outages. This role involves direct collaboration with internal teams (e.g., RF, Deployment, and Engineering) and external partners (e.g., fiber providers) to maintain optimal network functionality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor Transport EMSs and observability tools to detect and diagnose faults.
  • Identify and log incidents in ServiceNow, assess their business impact, and initiate ticket management.
  • Coordinate real-time troubleshooting and manage market-level communication via chat groups.
  • Perform post-maintenance site health checks and validations.
  • Lead the incident management lifecycle, including tracking, reporting, resolution, and documentation.
  • Prioritize incidents based on severity and service impact.
  • Collaborate with Advanced Operations, Engineering, and Vendors to escalate and resolve critical issues.
  • Drive Fiber outage resolutions (e.g., AT&T, Zayo) within SLA thresholds.
  • Maintain updated Trouble Tickets with technical details and resolution steps.
  • Support Network Surveillance Engineers and provide knowledge transfer.
  • Assist in maintaining a national-level network availability target of >99.50%.
  • Support problem management for chronic network issues involving vendors like Cisco, Palo Alto, etc.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Master s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Telecommunications, Network Engineering).
  • Experience in telecom and IP networking environments.
  • Hands-on experience in a 4G/5G NOC or equivalent operations support environment.
  • Proficiency in transport technologies such as SDH, DWDM, SON, ACI.
  • Deep understanding of routing protocols (e.g., eBGP, iBGP, IS-IS) and transport layers (e.g., MPLS, SR-MPLS, L2/L3VPN).
  • Familiarity with virtualization and IP-based technologies (CCNP preferred).
  • Strong grasp of the OSI model and network design principles.
  • Knowledge of 5G architecture including Core, RAN, Transport, and PaaS.
  • Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing tools.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and incident resolution skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to work in a rotating shift schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Certifications (not mandatory):

  • CCNP or higher (Cisco Certified Network Professional)
  • ITIL Foundation
  • Network+ or equivalent
