The Developer Experience team in OCI is looking for hands-on engineering leaders with expertise and passion in solving difficult problems in all areas of software engineering and striving to build better user experience. The Developer Experience team creates and owns platform hosting all internal DevOps UI tools spanning the full software lifecycle, from code generators, to applications that coordinate code deployments globally, to tools that help operate and debug highly-available distributed systems. Your lead of the team will have direct impact on the productivity of every OCI engineer and the success of the businesses at OCI. You will work with all the critical internal teams to build features necessary for their growth, and balance the challenges of growth, stability, and feature expansion to match the dynamic OCI priorities.
Responsibilities
As manager of Developer Experience, you will own and build highly available OCI services, platform, and critical UI applications that are used by every OCI team for managing every OCI service in every regions.
- You have strong technical depth and architectural know-how, and can provide leadership, technical direction and strategy, and audit design decisions for a team of talent engineers.
- You can coach, mentor, and develop the best talent, and lead engineers at the different locations.
- You can engage in hands-on management, including addressing customer issues and managing escalations.
- You can develop a prioritized roadmap of products, features and engineering asks, and work closely with a variety of stakeholders including executive leaderships and architects for strategy priority and direction alignment.
- You are good at driving the delivery of roadmap commitments on time with high quality.
Qualifications:
- A BS or MS degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in people management, with a proven track record in managing large-scale critical service.
- Demonstrated expertise in distributed systems, UI development, service operations and automations.
- Proficient at programming in Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and recruit very strong engineering talent.
- Demonstrated expertise in project management, dealing with competing priorities and able to manage multiple projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear, concise manner to all audiences including senior leadership
- Results and driven; thrives in a development environment that is agile, collaborative, and in start-up mode, even when faced with ambiguity and competing priorities

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
