JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:
The Engineer, Control Center Outage Experience provides operational tool and engineering expertise for the Power Delivery control centers. This role will develop and maintain internal control center tools and applications, enhance operating guides, provide analysis on existing processes to improve business continuity, and ensure KPIs support operational success. The primary focus of this role is to serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for the control center software tools and applications, collaborating closely with IT to support resolution of application issues, system defects, and enhancements. Frequent interaction with all Power Delivery control centers, Planning, IT, and Learning & Development - Operations partners is expected.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as the primary SME for control center software tools and applications, providing expert-level support and troubleshooting for systems such as ADMS, SCADA, TOMS, and DOMS
Collaborate with IT Service Delivery to resolve application issues, system defects, and coordinate enhancements to control center tools
Develop and maintain internal control center tools and applications to enhance operational efficiency
Enhance existing and/or prototype new solutions for emerging operational needs in the control centers
Identify and assess software improvement opportunities to deliver operational excellence
Develop, own, and monitor business flowcharts to optimize organizational workflows
Actively participate in electric utility industry forums, working groups and task forces to advocate for Entergy's positions and ensure industry best practices are understood
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Industrial) or Engineering Technology
0-6+ years of experience in an engineering discipline, depending on level (I, II, III, Sr)
Demonstrated expertise in control center software tools and applications, including ADMS, SCADA, TOMS, and DOMS
Ability to accurately capture and document process flowcharts
Preferred:
Strong programming skills (C++, Java, .NET, Python, Perl or similar)
Proficient in Power BI (or similar analytics toolset)
Knowledge of SQL (Structured Query Language)
