Job Description:

Join the team transforming the future of public safety technology. Be a valued member of a professional software development team building and maintaining a suite of software products helping first responders improve efficiency and effectiveness. The qualified applicant will become part of our clients First Responder Solutions operating unit.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Implement feature enhancements and other changes for a suite of software products marketed to the public safety domain
  • Collaborate with systems engineers to gain understanding of system requirements
  • Implement system requirements to meet user needs
  • Assist with the development of estimates for levels of effort for proposed changes
  • Apply software engineering best practices to ensure software quality
  • Develop solutions primarily using OpenVMS Macro Assembly. Use of other technologies expected

Basic Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
  • Bachelors degree in software engineering, computer science, or similar field
  • Minimum 8 to 10 years experience in software engineering
  • Demonstrated software development expertise and experience with OpenVMS Macro Assembly
  • Experience in full product life cycle

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
  • Masters degree in software engineering, computer science, or similar field
  • Experience in Public Safety Solutions
  • Experience with computer aided dispatch systems
  • Minimum 8 to 10 years experience in OpenVMS operating system
  • Minimum 8 to 10 years experience performing software engineering in an Agile environment

Location

Position allows for remote work but working hours are eastern time zone

Some travel will be required to northeast / mid-Atlantic USA
