Job Details

Role: Workday Functional Consultant
Location: 100% Remote
General Preferred Qualifications
  • Workday PRO Certification in relevant tracks preferred.
  • Working understanding of integrations such as EIBs, Core Connectors, and Public APIs.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical Workday solutions.
HCM Functional Requirements
  • Deep understanding of foundational HCM principles, including Business Processes, Reporting, Calculated Fields, Security, and Notifications.
  • Proficient in Workday Docs, Letter Templates, Questionnaires, Surveys, Reference Letters, and Custom Alerts.
  • Advanced hands-on experience with Onboarding, Change Job, and Termination business processes.
  • Ability to design and build Calculated Fields and Custom Reports.
  • Strong understanding of building, maintaining, and interpreting Security Group Permissions.
  • Provide functional support and recommendations to the Tier 1 Team for issue resolution and process optimization.
Time & Absence Functional Requirements
  • In-depth understanding of HCM foundational principles and Workday configuration framework.
  • Advanced configuration experience with Time-Off Plans (complex accruals, carryovers, shadow plans, and integration with Leave and Time Tracking).
  • Hands-on experience configuring Leave of Absence (balance periods, cascading/intermittent leaves, eligibility, and validation rules).
  • Familiarity with ancillary absence processes such as automated leave return, balance adjustments, transfers, and Sell Time Off.
  • Experience with Time Tracking, including employee schedules and time submission configurations.
  • Strong reporting experience using Absence and Time Tracking data sources.
  • Knowledge of Workday APIs related to Absence and Time Tracking modules.
Payroll Functional Requirements
  • Strong understanding of foundational HCM principles and their relationship to Payroll.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Workday Payroll processing calculation, complete, and settle steps.
  • Experience in configuring Payroll components including Earnings, Deductions, Account Posting Rules, Run Categories, and Payment Election Rules.
  • Experience with Third-Party Payroll Integrations (External Earnings, Deductions, Inputs).
  • Strong knowledge of Payroll and Accounting Data Sources (Payroll Results, Journal Lines).
  • Understanding of Payroll regulatory compliance and its impact on Workday configuration.
  • Awareness of Payroll touchpoints such as Time Tracking, Absence, HCM, Compensation, and Benefits.
Preferred Experience
  • Minimum of 3 5 years of hands-on Workday configuration experience in multiple functional areas.
  • Prior experience in large-scale HRIS or ERP implementation/support projects.
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies and Workday release management.
