Job Details

Location: CST (Remote & Occasionally travel)

We are seeking a highly skilled Denodo / BI Lead Developer with a minimum of 5 years of experience to support a complex data environment for an upcoming long-term engagement. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and hands-on experience in designing, developing, and implementing BI and data virtualization solutions using Denodo.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of Denodo-based data virtualization solutions.
  • Architect, implement, and optimize data models, views, and integrations in Denodo.
  • Provide technical leadership across BI initiatives, ensuring best practices and high-quality delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (data engineering, analytics, business stakeholders) to gather requirements and translate them into scalable BI solutions.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and advanced analytics using BI tools (Power BI/Tableau/others).
  • Troubleshoot performance issues, data inconsistencies, and integration challenges within the BI stack and Denodo platforms.
  • Mentor junior team members and guide teams through solution design and delivery.
  • Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and data governance standards.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with BI development and architecture.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Denodo (data virtualization, VQL, caching, performance optimization).
  • Proven experience leading BI or data engineering initiatives.
  • Proficiency in SQL, relational databases, and data modeling.
  • Experience with at least one enterprise BI platform (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of ETL/ELT concepts, data warehousing, and analytics ecosystems.
  • Ability to work independently in complex environments and drive solutions end-to-end.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Knowledge of API integration and real-time data access patterns.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
