Radio Frequency Survivability Engineer

The RF Survivability Engineer will advise and assist the Government in applying scientific methods and robust, rigorous Systems Engineering processes, hands-on system programming, and general engineering support to enable continuous data development and testing of survivability system components supporting developmental and operational projects and programs. The contractor shall have the necessary experience to independently support program office activities.

This position requires 100% customer location work (Eglin AFB, FL)-Work from home opportunities are not compatible with this position.

Essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:
Become system expert of multiple survivability systems understand capabilities and limitations of RF receiver, processing, and transmitting hardware and system software
Establish and maintain partnering relationships between customer, system program offices, defense contractors, and end-users
Become go-to expert in support of customer leadership, engineers, programmers, technicians, and user questions
Generate optimized system data files in support of customer projects and programs using system unique/proprietary programming software
Coordinate with defense contractors and DoD laboratories to ensure data developed for customer programs integrates seamlessly
Perform rapid system reprogramming of fielded data to resolve issues identified by operational users and implement increased capabilities to meet mission requirements
Design and perform data file verification and validation (V&V) processes using threat simulators or lab diagnostic equipment to include signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes for customer in support of fielding recommendations
Support test and evaluation (T&E) at various open-loop and closed-loop test facilities/locations to include hardware-in-the-loop, anechoic chamber, open-air ground test, and open-air flight test through all phases of T&E (planning, objective development, data requirements, data analysis and reporting)
Research existing and emerging RF systems supporting integrated air defenses systems and become familiar with functions, parametric attributes, and performance of said systems to support system programming and simulation accuracy
Execute and/or analyze hardware-in-the-loop threat simulation tests to verify and validate various types of data products prior to fielding
Author multiple technical writings to include reprogramming impact messages, system handbooks, test plans, test reports, user-guides
Perform data analysis including the development and documentation of data reduction and processing software, development of computer-generated data products, and development and implementation of data storage/retrieval capabilities
Provide technical expertise to customer and program offices through the acquisition lifecycle to include participating in acquisition strategy analysis and planning; developing and documenting decision support systems and models; developing and maintaining test schedules to program milestones; and participating in user requirement groups, TIMs, PMRs, TPWGs, ITTs, PDRs, CDRs, and other technical and programmatic reviews

Position Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years of relevant DoD work experience
Strong technical expertise. This is not a supervisory position and requires in depth knowledge of survivability system data development and testing. Must have expertise with RF receiver, processing, and transmitting hardware and system software.
Possess strong ability to work with minimal oversight and have demonstrated leadership and customer interface skills. Additionally, the candidate must have good analytic skills, be capable of operating in a multi-tasking environment, and have strong verbal and written communications skills.

Education Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in a related technical field of study (i.e. Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, etc.) is required.
Master of Science/Master of Engineering (MS/ME) degree in Electrical, Aerospace/Aeronautical, or Mechanical Engineering is highly desired.

Clearance Requirements:
Must possess an active Top Secret security clearance, current within five years, based upon a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) or SSBI Periodic Review (SBPR) and be eligible for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Programs (SAP) access
No less than three (3) years' experience in a SAP and/or SCI environment within the least five (5) years
Candidate will be subject to polygraph and drug testing upon request as a condition of employment.

Travel Requirements:
Must be able to travel monthly.
