Electrical Engineer III (Clarksburg WV)
Location: Connellsville, PA, Clarksburg WV, Parkersburg WV
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week (8 hours/day)
Duration:8 Months
Position Type: 100% Onsite
Pay Rate: $65/hour
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer III to join our team onsite, for a project supporting infrastructure modernization efforts. This role involves field research, electrical assessments, and hands-on work with building electrical systems to ensure code compliance, safety, and reliability. You will collaborate with engineers and other teams to support the development of electrical infrastructure and contribute to major energy provider projects.
Responsibilities

Field Research & Electrical Assessments

Perform onsite field research to gather data for single-line diagrams and floor plans of electrical devices and building electrical infrastructure.

Assess various electrical devices, including switchgears, switchboards, panels, disconnects, transformers, and other equipment.

Take photos of devices and infrastructure to support reports and analysis.

Scheduling & Shutdowns

Assist with scheduling off-hour and weekend shutdowns for essential work.

Flexibility for occasional off-hour and weekend work as needed.

Electrical Reporting & Compliance
-
Develop and maintain single-line diagrams and floor plans in AutoCAD and PDF formats.

Perform electrical assessments and generate detailed reports, linking pictures to floor plans and documenting code compliance, deficiencies, and safety issues.

Conduct life safety and deficiency assessments to ensure code compliance.

Track safety and compliance issues and document findings.

System Labeling & Troubleshooting

Label electrical equipment with relevant information (volts, amps, etc.).

Trace wiring and identify overloaded circuits and conduits.

Evaluate grounding issues and perform necessary assessments.

Develop panel schedules to ensure efficient system operation.

Electrical Upgrades & Project Planning

Perform minor electrical upgrades (e.g., wire nuts, outlet covers, junction box covers).

Input projects into the facility database for future planning (training provided).

Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Collaboration & Reporting

Work closely with engineers to conduct arc flash assessments and apply corresponding labels.

Ensure high-quality standards by overseeing quality assurance programs and contractor procedures.

Provide regular status updates to management, including reports on scope, budget, schedule, and risk mitigation.

Project Management & Coordination

Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout project planning, construction, and turnover phases.

Support scheduling, resource planning, and project plan reviews.

Participate in project close-out and post-project reviews to evaluate lessons learned.
Qualifications
-
Experience: 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering or a related field.

Skills:
-
Expertise in electrical systems, including troubleshooting, assessments, and code compliance.

Proficient in AutoCAD and PDF for creating and reviewing electrical diagrams.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Flexibility: Ability to work off-hours and weekends when required.
Additional: Potential for contract extension or permanent hire based on performance.
