Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Center Team Lead to join our IT operations team. This role involves overseeing data center activities, maintaining IT systems, troubleshooting issues, performing server installations, and ensuring continuous network availability. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of network infrastructure, data center operations, and server deployments. Leadership and project management experience are essential, along with hands-on expertise in GPU deployment and at least 4 years of experience in a hyperscale environment.

Job Overview

Leadership and project management experience are essential, along with hands-on expertise in GPU deployment and at least 4 years of experience in a hyperscale environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced technical tasks and support Level 1 and Level 2 teams, including:
- Install, move, and cable servers and switches per wire maps.
- Inspect hardware for damage and ensure proper configuration.
- Troubleshoot servers, isolate issues, and replace defective parts.
- Update firmware and configure IP addresses.
- Assist network teams with cabling, optics replacement, and hardware upgrades.
- Deploy and configure GPUs in servers.
- Act as an escalation point for technical issues and provide advanced troubleshooting.
- Lead and mentor deployment and operational teams.
- Serve as liaison between team members and management.
- Review build documentation and validate requirements before projects.
- Direct and coordinate data center build activities.
- Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Plan and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Monitor progress and provide status updates to project managers.
- Designate training paths for team development.
- Provide thought leadership to support program growth.
- Travel as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components.
- Familiarity with standard office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Physical ability to lift up to 35 lbs, climb ladders, and wear PPE as required.
- Proven experience as a technical lead with team supervision skills.
- Project management experience.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a hyperscale data center environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- CompTIA A+ or equivalent experience.
- CompTIA Server+ or equivalent experience.
- CCENT or equivalent experience.
- CCNA certification preferred.
- MCP/MSCE certification preferred.
- Windows OS experience.
- Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
- Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2) is a plus.
- Experience with structured cabling, rack & stack, fiber, and optical testing.
- Understanding of storage devices.
- Familiarity with ITIL Framework (ITSM, Change Management, Problem Management).
- Strong understanding of network fundamentals (OSI Layers 1-3).
- OSHA30 or higher certification.
